Barn Find

This suckers been sitting for a while.

Description & Modifiations

I found my SSII in my bosses basement. It had been there for 15 years and he used it around the yard for some small chores. I have been after him to buy it fo the last 10 years. He bought it, had it restored, and than pretty much parked it in a heated, dry basement. The SSII has always been the holy grail of scouts for me. There is just something about them that i have allways loved. and this one is in almost perfect shape. It has some small issues that i am starting to work on. I can't wait to take it on the roads and trails.

Engine

Numbers matching 345, but it has been sitting for 15 years so you can inagine what the seals look like. 8-5-09 The motor is all done and back in!! She purrs like a kitten again with her new pistons and rods. Dam She Is Hot Now!!!! Check out my new Pictures.

Future Modifications

The motor and trains is coming out and getting rebuilt, from the ground up. That is the big project for the next few weeks. 6-2-09 The motor and trans are done and about to go back in. They look so good i can't wait to hear it roar!

Babble

Husker...I'm in awe!!

I have the exact model, 1977 Winter White Baja Cruiser!!!
I bought it in 1985 with 55k miles on it and parked it in 1987 in my dad's barn in NC. Periodically he started it over the years. It has about 60k orig. miles and I want (said 11 months ago by Kevin).

It is amazing!!!!! (said 6 months ago by Alan Hudson).

Thanks guys. That means alot to me. This is my dream ride and i am going to continue working to make it better. Now that the engine is done it is time to take the body off the frame and do a full frame up restoration. After the summer of course. I need to (said 5 months ago by Corn Husker).

Bad ass! I've got an old ad showing that SS flying off a sand dune. Did scout make SS emblems. I saw some on a scout but they looked like chevy SS emblems though. (said 4 months ago by Rob Gojkovich).

No, they never made SS emblems. If someone put them on they may look cool but they did not come with it. (said 3 months ago by Corn Husker).
