Restoration

Its a time portal, taking us back to a better time and a better place

Description & Modifiations

this isn't my original work but I bought from a metal worker in Michigan that had put a lot of work into it, but now its time to add the finishing touches. the scout has been a frame off restoration, with new metal and galvanized steel floor pans and bed. i have added a new bumper and winch. I have also had the tub and shell line-ex. looks great.

Recent work includes rebuilding the brake system (calipers, rotors, brake booster, master cylinder, brake lines). just upgraded to red top optima battery, and a very cool aluminum custom radiator (bolt in) courtesy of IH only north...(THANKS Jeff). Definitely keeps her cool. all new radiator hoses, and fan shroud; went with an 18" flex fan (non-clutch no room for it). rebuilt transmission with new torque converter.

just had the whole brake system rebuilt , new proportioning valve , steel braided brake lines , new calipers + pads , new master cylinder , and new rear pads and hardware. Whew...

Engine

345 v8 IH motor that has cleaned painted and baked, trued heads @ 3 degrees, shaved heads .030", new valves, speed hypo pistons/rings, isky racing cam, polished crank, 600 edlebrock, petronox ignition/coil, msd 6al ignition box, malory wires...it purrs with a new flow master dual exhaust from the manifolds back

Future Modifications

Well I just bought stock in IH only north, or rather they have all my money...

1.DUI distributor on the way with live wires set
2. bilstien front shocks with new shock mounts
3. steel braided brake cables
4. 14" k&n filter charger kit
5. cpt reverse shackle kit front
6. IH only north rear sway bar kit
7. new brake portioning valve
8. stans headers (old style)
9. rebuilt tilt steering column and borgensen steering knuckle

will post pictures of the finished product.

Scouting out for fathers day

Check out Super Scout Specialists for wire harnesses. They build them up from IH specs. They are perfect. About $800 for all 4. (said 7 months ago by Jason Muehr).
