Still running and gets you where you need to go.
The Scout was purchased new from a dealer in Long Beach by my uncle, who used it for forays into the desert throughout the 60's, 70's and 80's. He retired to 35 acres outside Paso Robles in the early '90's, where he used it to get around the ranch until he got so he preferred the tractor for that. I finally talked him into letting me have it in May, '08. So, it has come full circle, back to Long Beach.
Truck is bone stock, with just shy of 69000 miles on the clock. It is one of the few to have come from the factory with the turbocharger, which has led to many a puzzled look from folks who thought they knew Scouts, and several carburetor hassles. Mechanically in very good condition, Uncle Bob having done all the maintenance himself over the years. Body is solid with no rust to be found, but cosmetics do show its age, however, so that will be my charge.
Stock IH 152 ci inline 4 with single barrel carburetor and factory turbocharger.
Paint and tires will begin the freshening up. Want to have that done by Christmas so I can spring it on U. Bob. After that, it needs the rubber replaced all 'round and the interior redone (seat covers, etc.).

What a beauty.
Cool! Can we see some pictures of the turbo? (said over 3 years ago by Jacob Walker).
Turbo? Wow...I have the 65 Scout 80 and had no idea that was an option then. Had mine since my mother bought it for my father in 65. 99% stock.
They are the original! (said over 3 years ago by jason bonnell).
