This suckers been sitting for a while.
Terra has the dash style transfer case and factory buckets and only has 78000 miles I found her sitting in a field. the previous owner hooked the battery up backwards and left it that way melted most of the wiring after an almost complete rewire she started right up!!!... she had been sitting for 11 years! I have replaced all the lights in my gauges with LED bulbs they are much brighter require less power and will practically never go out.
345 V8 I have added an egr block off plate. I have also taken out most of the unneeded vacuum lines. the head gasket is blown on the passenger side... I'm pulling the engine this week
UPDATE: I now have my motor completely disassembled and am in the middle of my first rebuild. What i thought was a head gasket was locked lifters and two bent push rods. She still ran!!!!!!!
Trying to build a reliable weekend wheeler for me and the wife. In the process of rebuilding the engine. And I'm going to changing the transmission over to a 4spd manual with a d20 transfer case. I'd like about 4" lift in the future. Also lockers and lower gears in the differentials I'm thinking about 4.10s or so. UPDATE: 6/9/9 Just got a IH 4spd with a xfer case and all the bracketry for my swap. Also Just got my motor back from the machine shop... Time to rebuild!
pretty slick, you are the 3rd scout owner i've found so far in fayetteville. I'm a student, and i just bought my scout from a guy in elkins. Love it (said over 2 years ago by Alex).
No the tree is growing over the scout we had to cut it way back just to get her out. (said over 2 years ago by Josiah Sisco).
Cool glad to have you among the owners. I've seen several scouts out that way. In fact there used to be one sitting under a tree at the highway 74 cutoff. (said over 2 years ago by Josiah Sisco).
Come find me and the other "locals" at the Mid-South Binders forum at www.binderplanet.com (said over 2 years ago by Josiah Sisco).
