Description & Modifiations
Chevy corprate 14bolt..chevy dana 44..spung over 4ich lift spring in front and stock rear springs moved under the frame and longer shackles..chopped off the rusted bed and added a what ever was laying around roll cage....stock gears for now anyway..it cheaply built cuz moneys tight but i love my IH and gotta show ppl ya dont need alot of money ta take the old corn binder out on the rocks...i have a nissan diesl turbo charged that puts all the torque down i need and never let me down in the 10 years i have owned the motor...

I have never driven a scout with the nissan engine in it. What kind of power do they put out? Glad to see another scout that isn't a trailer queen and actually gets used! When is the snow run? (said over 3 years ago by Jacob Walker).

the old diesal is only 100 hp but the bottem end power makes up for it...lol..well the old fella hasnt seen much hwy for the last few years..im sorry i spelled the city wrong..its molalla Orgen..south of portland (said over 3 years ago by old smokey).

Did you cut and turn your front D44 or just bolt it up? I am thinking about doing this swap on my rig but I don't know about the caster and driveline angles. (said over 2 years ago by Rich Nelson).

i had to clock my chevy 44s..mostly cause it sitts so high and i wanted better drive line angle for front drive....i built the front of the frame up about 6inchs..could be too much for me but i cant imagine it setting lower now..lol

I do not have CVs in my truck...allthough the front is tight but has not given any problems thus far...i did however put in tranny mount spacers on the trany xmember to level the tranny for a better drive line angle in the end to make her go around and ar (said over 2 years ago by old smokey).

on my 2" scout springs...do you have to change the spring perches and move them in some on the front because GM are 2.5" wide leafs, correct? (said over 2 years ago by Rich Nelson).
lol all the crazy the betta..lol sound like a gd set of axles. on the chey44 i old made on high steer arm for the flat top knuckl on pasngr side for drag link..used stock chev tie rod

yes u have to move ur perch in some...on diff side cut or grinde away some of the diff and drill new cntr bolt hole..and driver side just cut of spring plate and move it in some as well..it isnt much cant remember how much it was..will look at my truck so (said over 2 years ago by old smokey).

lol well the nissan dsl are great...a little under powerd but there are some small home brew upgrades that i can tell ya about if ya get the truck...1st put in a 2 and a 1/2 in exaust...no muffler...and get ride of the stock air cleaner...that will wake i (said over 2 years ago by A.J. Smith).
