Description & Modifiations

Carb rebuild - 11/28/08
Stock motor rebuild! - 08/21/09

Engine

304 that runs pretty good, but leaks alot of oil. Figured I would rebuild it before something major happens.

Future Modifications

Engine rebuild. Scratch that! I checked the compression this weekend and had 115 psi on all Cylinders. Looks like vlave cover gaskets are next.

11/21/08 Update!
Got some time this weekend to rebuild my carb, Holley 2B 7309-1A. I wasn't as hard as I first thought it would be. After some good research and knowing that I had the right rebuild kit it was just a matter of finding the time. Check out the pics and I hope this helps anyone else.

Just got my engine back. I wasn't planning on getting it torn down and rebuilt but after some advice from my elders it was a good call. 30 over with new pistons and rings. No head work was needed so it was a simple rebuild but glad it was done. Check out the custom work I did on my valve covers. Thanks to my wife for the inspiration! Tranny rebuild is next, maybe this weekend. Then fire wall prep and paint then the motor and trans back in.

Babble

Wow, Love the color. I did not think I would see another 79 with the same paint as mine. Check out mint 79 from Harrison twp,mi. Take care!

My first Scout was the same color. Doesn't look like the bady is ratted either, which is amazing. Are you planning to go all stock or give it a lift and meat eaters?? Fly Safe, JW (said over 2 years ago by Joseph Whitehead).

Love your Scout! I'm from Illinois but I go to Bibb County Alabama a lot. I lived there for 5 years. I am coming down in the fall and wanted to know if we could meet up and go wheelin. I have a 78 Scout II but its rusted out. the frame is perfect though. (said over 2 years ago by Mike).

good for wheelin. I have some land we could wheel on or we could go to an off road park. let me know. jlaudio_240sx@hotmail.com (said over 2 years ago by Mike).
