Description & Modifiations

While I wanted a short wheel base 4wd with the two-speed transfer case, I'd known this truck for years and through its multiple owners. When its final options were the scrap heap or me, I took it home for what the yard would have paid the previous owner.

I'm not a paint guy by any means, but the first owner let his 8 year old daughter paint the truck for her birthday. Rainbows, ponies, smiley faces, polka dots... I still have nightmares. It was like the Barbie section of Toys R Us vomited all over this rig. I solved that problem with a cheap roller, a gallon of Rustoleum flat black enamel and a quart of Rustoleum flat white enamel (bridge paint). To recoup some of the lost testosterone, the hood got Terantino's 'Death Proof' treatment (skull and lightening bolts).

I've already been stunned by where this truck will go. The locker in the rear gave up the ghost long ago, so I'm peg-leg Pete in any slippery situation. Even so, I've had the girl in and out of places buddies with 4wd Fords are a little hesitant about.

Plans for the future include the removal of the current 304. I'm building a 345 that I inherited mid-creation from my father, and it will more than likely end up mildly wild. Thoughts of fuel injection pester me daily...

I'm amassing the parts to go 4wd on her. It's just a matter of some funds and the space to pull her apart and stick her back together now. Soon enough, soon enough.

Engine

Chevy? Blasphemy... But seriously, Death Proof is currently sporting the stock 304 with god only knows how many miles on the clock. I'm in the middle of a 345 build that I inherited from my father. This sort of disease could only be genetic...
