Restoration

Its a time portal, taking us back to a better time and a better place

Description & Modifiations

Well, I have had the Scout home for about a year now! Haven't done a lot towards the restoration but gave her a good cleaning and fixed the following:

brakes reworked
new emergency brake cables
new steering box
new dual exhaust system
all fluids changed
pretty thorough tune-up
replaced seal from travel top to body

I got lucky with the purchase because it looks like just about everything is original and all came with the Scout. I'm not sure about the front grille and emblem.

I have the track for the soft-top along with all of the supports, got a roll-bar, and the transmission and oil pan skid plates (not installed as of today).

Future Modifications

I would like to have the rack, roll-bar, rear & front bumpers either powder-coated or painted.

Would also like to get the top painted, there is a bit of rust and I would like to stop it in it's tracks.

Also thinking about applying a spray-on bed-liner to the interior floor (any thoughts)?

I have a sticky lifter... anyone know a good mechanic in the Sacramento area?

Staci, check out ihsfr.org or sierrafallrallye.com. It's a pretty good event to attend in the fall. (said over 2 years ago by Rob ).

Staci, cool Scout. I own a II, but I always liked the 80/800s. Do you know of any Scout clubs in the area? I'm in Sacramento, too. Thanks, (said over 2 years ago by Bo Ahlgren).
