Still running and gets you where you need to go.
My Scout is a diamond in the rough, to say the least. It looks good from a distance, then not so much up close. But that's all workable. To my knowledge it is all factory minus the missing vacuum pump and seats. Had some nasty seats out of an old ford bronco II, so I got rid of those the first day. The floors have the typical rust of most Scouts that I've see, so there's not much of a floor. It might not win at the the strip but it will sling some mud with the best and climb those hills yet still get over 25mpg on the way back to the house. She might be small but she'll pull anything you throw at her.
It has the Nissan SD-33T Turbo Diesel engine.
I have a huge list of things I want to do to this baby.
First off I am going to get a vacuum pump so i can have power breaks. That will be nice.
When I can park it for some time, I'm going to do a complete off-frame restoration on it. Starting with an acid dip to really get all that rust off her.
Have the engine completely overhauled w/ a bigger turbo, inner cooler, snorkel kit, to a 4" exhaust.
The body will get all the fixing that it needs with a fresh orange paint job, with a black top. Custom roll cage, new seats w/ 5 point harness, and new glass all around.
Update the interior w/ all new gauges, w/ a few extra ones, etg's, boost, and a psi gauge for the air tanks.
Going to do a spring over conversion w/ air bags on the back and slap on some black chrome rims wrapped in 35" Cooper M/Ts.
